| Michael Davis to Step Away from the Sport for Awhile... |
| (April 3, 2012) Rayland, Ohio native Michael Davis announced today that he has decided to step away from the sport for awhile due to personal reasons. He is not selling out, but will instead just park his equipment for an unspecified amount of time. Michael apologizes to all of his fans and supporters, but he needs to spend some time away from the racetrack. (February 17, 2012) Night four of the 'UNOH DIRTcar Nationals' scheduled for tonight at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida was unfortunately rained-out during Open Wheel Modified qualifying. The $1,000 to win program has been pushed back until Sunday afternoon, which sets up a day-night doubleheader at the 1/2-mile Volusia County speedplant. (February 16, 2012) The #65 team returned to action at the Volusia Speedway Park tonight in night three of the 'DIRTcar Nationals.' Michael Davis unfortunately experienced terminal problems during his qualifying lap, as he posted the ninth fastest time in his group and later scratched from the remainder of the $1,000 to win program. (February 15, 2012) Round two of the 'DIRTcar Nationals' for the Open Wheel Modifieds took place tonight at VSP and another $1,000 top prize was on the line. After transferring into last night's feature event, Michael Davis was looking to do the same again tonight. Unfortunately, Michael timed in eighth fastest in his group during qualifying and later finished eighth in his heat race. He was unable to transfer his #65 entry into the A-Main tonight, but will look for better fortunes tomorrow evening. (February 14, 2012) Michael Davis and the #65 team spearheaded by owner Bruce Takash kicked off their 2012 racing season tonight at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida! Michael timed in ninth fastest in his group during UMP DIRTcar Series qualifying and later advanced up to seventh in his loaded heat race. The Rayland, Ohio native then grabbed the second transfer spot through his B-Main to gain access into the $1,000 to win main event, where he later finished twenty-fourth in the final rundown. |
