"Hot Rod" Michael Davis wrapped up his 2011 campaign during the annual 'Pittsburgher' weekend at the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 16-17. On Friday evening, Michael won his heat race and later redrew the twelfth starting spot for the $2,000 to win Dirt Late Model feature event. The Rayland, Ohio native was able to move up four positions in the A-Main en route to a steady eighth place effort. When Saturday rolled around, Michael once again won his heat race at PPMS and rolled off seventh on the grid in the $7,000 to win main event. A wrong tire selection for the #7m team doomed them in the 'Pittsburgher,' as Michael slipped back to a thirteenth place finish.

In Open Wheel Modified action over the weekend, Michael unfortunately suffered a flat tire in his heat race on Friday night and had to start the $1,500 to win A-Main from the tail of the field on Saturday. Behind the wheel of Bruce Takach's #65 machine, Michael stormed through the pack to finish in the tenth spot.
